⚡ Whole-home standby · Ice storms · OKC metro

Whole-home standby generators,
installed across the OKC metro.

Ice takes the lines down here every few winters. A standby unit has the furnace, the well and the fridge running again before you're out of bed.

Blackout Standby Power on the job

What we install

From the load calculation to the first test run

One crew does the pad, the gas, the electrical and the permit. Nobody gets handed off to a subcontractor halfway through.

01 Whole-Home Standby Generators

Whole-Home Standby Generators

18kW to 26kW air-cooled units sized on a real load calculation. Pad, gas, transfer switch and start-up, all one crew.

From $9,400
02 Automatic Transfer Switches

Automatic Transfer Switches

Whole-house or managed-load switches. The power drops, it transfers in seconds, and it hands back to the utility on its own.

From $1,850
03 Gas Line & Meter Upgrades

Gas Line & Meter Upgrades

A generator needs its own supply and often a larger meter. We size the run and coordinate the meter change with the utility.

From $1,200
04 Portable Generator Inlets

Portable Generator Inlets

Not ready for standby? An interlock kit and a proper inlet box beats running cords through a cracked window in an ice storm.

From $875
05 Annual Service & Load Testing

Annual Service & Load Testing

Oil, filters, plugs, battery, and a run under real load. A unit that never gets tested fails on the one night you need it.

$389 / year
06 Won't-Start & Repair Calls

Won't-Start & Repair Calls

Batteries, controller faults, fuel pressure and failed exercise cycles. We service what we sold and what we didn't.

From $195

Inside Blackout Standby Power

Who's wiring it

The ice storm is the reason this company exists.

We were doing service electrical when a January ice event put half our customer list in the dark for nine days. We spent that week running extension cords between houses and decided there had to be a better answer than that.

Now it's all we do. Sizing, the pad, the gas line, the transfer switch, the permit and the start-up — same crew, one number to call when it's four degrees out and the whole street is black.

— Dana Okonkwo, Blackout Standby Power

Why Blackout

One crew, one permit, one number

Most generator jobs go wrong in the handoffs between three different trades.

01

Sized on a load calculation

We measure what your house actually pulls. Undersized units trip on the first cold start.

02

Electrical and gas in-house

No waiting three weeks on a second contractor before the unit can run.

03

Permit and inspection handled

Pulled and scheduled by us, so you are not the one chasing the city.

04

Tested under load, yearly

We come back, run it hard and leave a report. That's what makes it start in January.

Get sized

Tell us what has to stay on

Furnace, well pump, fridge, a home office, one air conditioner. That list decides the size, and the size decides the price — send it and we'll get close before anyone visits.

  • ✓ Free on-site sizing and quote
  • ✓ Electrical, gas and permit all in-house
  • ✓ Firm price — no allowances, no 'TBD' lines
